Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: ED - Emergency Department - Discipline: RN - Start Date: ASAP - Duration: 50 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, days - Employment Type: Local Contract RN Emergency Preparedness and Infectious Disease Location: Providence RI Shift: Day, 8hr/Day, Hours/Week: 35 , 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM? Local Pay Rate: $53.79 Summary The Rhode Island Department of Health (RIDOH) has retained Knowledge Services to provide a Public Health Nurse. This individual will be in the Center for Acute Infectious Disease Epidemiology (CAIDE) and will primarily support the Project Firstline Team, who conducts virtual and in-person education for employees of various healthcare facilities. This individual may also be cross trained to conduct outbreak investigations and evaluation at healthcare facilities, and/or perform routine surveillance of reportable infectious diseases. Responsibilities Activities may include but are not limited to: • Developing power point presentations on various infection control topics • Presenting infection control content on webinars • Presenting infection control content in person at healthcare facilities • Perform other duties as assigned Skills, Knowledge and Abilities • Comprehensive knowledge of infection control and infection prevention • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams) • Good communication skills • Strong presentation skills • Ability to be flexible and adjust to a changing workflow • Valid driver's license and willingness to drive personal vehicle to field visits • Willingness to conduct a field visit to a facility that may be experiencing an outbreak • Strong interpersonal skills • Strong written and oral communication skills • Extensive experience collaborating with other teams/groups • Ability to work in a professional team environment, as well as independently • Bilingual- English/Spanish Education and Experience • Bachelor's degree in nursing from an accredited school of nursing • Active nursing license in the state of Rhode Island • At least two years of experience in infection control and prevention • Certification in infection control and prevention preferred TB_HC Talent Burst Job ID 25-32200.
