Key is seeking a part-time (10 - 12 hours per week) Registered Nurse to join their residential program teams as a "Nurse Monitor." Potential to increase hours, over time.The Nurse Monitor is responsible to provide Quality Assurance by monitoring the facilities' Medication Administration Program (MAP) systems to ensure compliance with DPH and DCF/DMH Caring Together. This weekly part-time position offers a flexible work hour schedule.Qualifications: The Nurse Monitor position requires a Registered Nurse (RN) with two years' RN experience. All candidates must be 21 years of age or older; have a valid state driver's license; and, have a legally registered and insured car for work use. Applicants should have excellent verbal and written communication skills. MAP Approved Trainer preferred. If candidate is not currently a MAP Approved Trainer, training will be provided.Responsibilities: This is a highly administrative position to provide additional clinical monitoring to MAP in order to address the distinct needs and challenges presented in administering medications to minors by: (not all inclusive):

• Observing all MAP Certified staff prepare and administer medication in a manner consistent with all MAP policies, procedures and protocols
• Verifying HCP orders are current, properly transcribed, and are being administered accordingly
• Verifying that medication is properly procured and stored
• Reviewing documentation of medications being administered at the site to ensure that proper clinical protocols are in place and are being observed
• Ensures submission and follow-up of Medication Occurrence Reports and determine areas where further training or other intervention may be needed
• Assesses issues and the technical functions related to medication administration that may be unique to individuals served at a particular site and takes steps to ensure that Certified staff are properly informed, educated and/or competent with regard to issues
• Communicates with State MAP Coordinators regarding findings relative to Technical Assistance reviews performed at the site
• Assesses certified staff medication administration competence in adherence to procedures and protocols outlined in the current Approved MAP Curriculum and MAP Policy Manual
