Job Description:
US Foods, a leading foodservice distributor, is seeking an
experienced Diesel Fleet Mechanic to maintain and repair our fleet
of delivery trucks. This position is crucial in ensuring that our
fleet is operating efficiently and safely, delivering food products
reliably to our widespread customer base across the nation. The
Diesel Fleet Mechanic will work within our transportation
department, addressing mechanical issues ranging from routine
maintenance to complex repairs. The ideal candidate will be skilled
in diagnosing issues, committed to industry safety standards, and
proficient in the latest automotive technology. Perform routine and
preventive maintenance on diesel engines and heavy-duty trucks.
Diagnose and repair mechanical and electronic systems. Respond to
roadside breakdowns and ensure timely resolutions. Maintain
accurate records of each repair and service performed. Ensure all
safety protocols and regulations are followed during maintenance.
Work collaboratively with the logistics team to schedule
maintenance and minimize vehicle downtime. In-depth knowledge of
diesel engine components and systems. Proficiency in using
diagnostic tools and equipment. Ability to troubleshoot and repair
hydraulic and electrical systems. Strong problem-solving skills and
attention to detail. Effective communication skills for documenting
processes and liaising with team members. Medical Insurance Dental
Insurance Vision Insurance 401k Valid Commercial Driver’s License
(CDL) is preferred. ASE Diesel Certification is highly
desirable.
