Therapy, active Occupational Therapist license and 1 year of
Occupational Therapy experience required. Applicants who do not
meet these qualifications will not be considered. This contract
opportunity for an Occupational Therapist is based in Boston, MA,
supporting students across K-12 settings within a school district.
Assigned primarily to multiple schools including elementary and
middle schools, this role offers a unique chance to impact students
with diverse needs during a leave coverage from April 27, 2026,
through June 13, 2026. The Occupational Therapist will collaborate
with special education teams districtwide to provide direct
intervention and consultation in both general education and
specialized classrooms. Responsibilities include administering
evaluations, developing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), and
implementing therapeutic strategies that address fine motor, visual
motor, and sensory integration challenges. The role requires strong
interdisciplinary cooperation with educators and participation in
IEP, 504, and student support meetings. Documentation for Medicaid
reimbursement and adherence to legal compliance is critical. Key
responsibilities: Deliver direct services through push-in,
pull-out, and consultative models tailored to student needs Utilize
diverse assessment tools to support eligibility and develop
individualized goals and accommodations Collaborate with
multidisciplinary teams to design and implement motor and sensory
programs Assist with vocational programming for students with
specialized educational needs Maintain detailed documentation and
timely submission of paperwork related to student services and
compliance Participate actively in professional development, staff
meetings, and district trainings Provide training and support in
assistive technology applications for student use Uphold
professional ethics and current laws in special education practice
Desired qualifications and experience: Proven expertise in
pediatric neurodevelopment and sensorimotor dysfunction applicable
to school-age children Familiarity with current best practices in
occupational therapy within educational settings Experience in
school-based assessments, IEP development, and interdisciplinary
collaboration Strong communication and organizational skills for
efficient compliance and reporting This role offers the opportunity
